APPRENTICESHIPS
The options to get into the engineering industry are continually expanding and here at GTA Civils & Transport we like to support and encourage our staff to fully embrace learning new skills whilst working.
Apprenticeships are a great way to start a career in civil engineering or transport planning and its associated disciplines. Two members of our Transport Team have recently completed the Transport Planning Technician Apprenticeship scheme which is supported by the Chartered Institution of Highways & Transport. They now both have the opportunity to become professionally qualified as Engineering Technicians (EngTech). Click the links below to see their thoughts on the course.
We have also enabled our staff to work to becoming qualified civil engineers and transport planners. Whilst working at GTA Civils & Transport, they have been able to spend one to two days a week at university studying for a BTEC HNC in Civil Engineering or Construction and the Built Environment of post graduate degrees in transport planning.
WORK EXPERIENCE
In recent years we have taken on several students looking for work experience ranging from secondary school age to university level.
We were pleased to hear that one of our recent work experience students has chosen to take a degree in Civil Engineering at university after successfully completing their A levels. We welcome enquiries from students wishing to gain valuable experience in civil engineering, transport planning or flood risk.
